ONE of the Hastings' premiere fundraising events gets under way tomorrow with a cocktail party launch.
The Carnival of the Pines is a week-long festival that includes dinners, a ball and a street parade.
A cocktail party at the Port Macquarie Race Club will bring together its Rotary Club hosts with sponsors, previous carnival king and queen champion fundraisers, community groups and supporters.
Organiser Heather Duncan said charities to benefit from this year's fundraising will be announced at the event, which starts at 6pm.
A major theme of this year's carnival will again be bringing the community together.
Organisers hope to repeat last year's highly successful street parade and Town Green market later in the year.
The Carnival King and Queen fundraising entrants also will be introduced at the soiree.
"We hope to encourage other individuals or representatives from businesses, sporting clubs or community groups to enter our Charity King/Queen competition," carnival chairman David Mayne said.
The cocktail party costs $25 per person.
Those who want to attend should phone Heather Duncan on 0438 443 963 for catering purposes.
